On to the topic at hand...it is Fitreps time! I have never done one of these before, but as an Ensign, they are due in May, but we are required to turn them in sometime at the beginning of March (always the case it seems). Basically, the fitrep is an evaluation of me and my performance. It highlights some of the things I have done and is part of my record for my service. Since I don't really know what I am doing (we contribute a great portion of it ourselves and then the senior officers complete a portion), they are having a mandatory Fitrep workshop next week for the Ensigns...and I'm quite thankful they don't expect me to know how to do this. There is a specific way they must be written...as with everything in the military...it must be perfect! All I have to do for the training is print off a blank Fitrep and bring my brag sheet (filled out with everything I have done since arriving at the command). Some things from the brag sheet will go on the Fitrep. They are done every year and are VERY important! I am almost done with my brag sheet, but it is taking me awhile. One interesting thing is that I have earned about 50 continuing education credits since coming to this command 6 months ago! That is on my brag sheet...and the crazy thing is that I will be earning at least 100 more this coming year with all the classes I'll be taking. My states requires 45 CEs every three years...and I've already done that in 6 months!
Anyway...I'll let you know how the Fitrep goes :-).
